The Hayter name has been synonymous with revolutionary lawnmowers and beautiful British gardens for over three quarters of a century. Established in 1946 by Douglas Hayter, who created his first mower by combining a 2 stroke engine with spare parts from his shed and a dustbin lid for the rotary cover!

Hayter continued to grow and by 1960 they had been awarded the Royal Warrant to supply horticultural equipment to Her Majesty the Queen at Sandringham and continue to supply lawnmowers to the British Royal Estate today. All Hayter mowers are still 100% built in Britain to this day
